Renowned playback singer Arijit Singh became an overnight sensation with the release of the Aashiqui 2 music album. In this exclusive chat with 9XM Soundtrack, he opens up about his struggles, triumphs and experiences with composers in the industry.




Initial phase in Bollywood
Arijit Singh says that his music career began with his participation in reality shows. On winning the second show he participated in, he invested the amount in setting up a studio. It was where he started composing and singing  pieces for advertisements, news channels and radio.

Working on Raaz Reboot
The ADHM singer admits that Vikram Bhatt initially didn’t like his scratches for Raaz Aankhein Teri (Raaz Reboot, 2016). To know what was the reason for the rejection watch the above video.




He confesses that there were times when he had attempt a track 5 times to get it right. This he says was the case with the song,
Lo Maan Liya as well.

The Muskurane ( CityLights) singer takes pride in having worked with A R Rahman in Kochadaiiyaan (2014) and Tamasha (2015). He remembers some moments shared with the Oscar winning singer-composer during the recording of the RK-Deepika starrer.
